The In's and Out's About Ordering WayMaker Fabrics

Whether you've just stumbled upon WayMaker Fabrics, you've been watching us for a while or are a long-time customer, this information is probably useful to you.

You might be asking "How do I order?" "What is pre-order?" "How is pre-order different from 'Retail'?" I saw a design, but it isn't on your website anymore, how do I get it?"

Let's take a look at all these questions and answers.

How do I order?

But for those who would like a summary:

  1. Select the design you like
    1. You can find our products under the drop-down SHOP button.
  2. Select the fabric base you would like the design printed on. (Remember, we print on demand)
    1. If you would like any information regarding our bases, scroll down and you will see the fabric content listed.
  3. Select the yardage you want. 1=.5 yard. 2=1 yard. We sell in half yard increments.
  4. Add to cart
  5. Continue shopping or check out from there. 
  6. Follow the checkout prompts.
  7. Note, we are a print on demand shop, so your fabric ships in roughly 1 week from the time you place your order. Pre-order is not shipped until pre-order closes, so expect your order to ship with in 2 weeks of preorder closing. 

What is Pre-Order?

If you aren't familiar with the how WayMaker Fabrics releases designs, let me share with you. 
  • We drop new prints every 8ish weeks. They are called "pre-order" 
  • Pre-orders last 2 weeks. 
    • They drop on Thursdays and close 2 weeks later on Friday morning.
  • During pre-order you get $2.00 off per yard on MOST bases.
  • You can place multiple orders during pre-order, and if you pay shipping multiple times, we refund shipping overages at the time the order is shipped.
    • This is in addition to the email you get offering you to add to your order.
    • During pre-order we can always add to an existing order. 
    • If you are worried that I won't catch the shipping overage, leave me a note on your order "add to order #123456" and I will combine the orders and get shipping refunded (if applicable). 
  • Orders are shipped 1-2 weeks after pre-order closes.
    • All orders, whether pre-order or retail, are processed together during the pre-order phase. Therefore, even if you've ordered retail items without any pre-order items, you will have the same shipping timeline as those who placed pre-orders.
  • You can order "Retail" and "Pre-order" in the same order, and they are processed and shipped together.
  • Designs from pre-order are removed from the website until they are released for "Retail"
    • This is why you might see a recent design but can't find it on the website.

This leads us to another of our questions...

How is Pre-order Different from Retail?

During pre-order you receive a discount on most bases during the 2 week release.

Retail designs, which are listed under the All-Fabrics section, do not have an automatic discount (but don't lose heart, you can sign up for our newsletter and receive a 20% off discount, and we have regular sales and other discounts available).

Retail is shipped on average within one week of ordering, so you can have your order in hand in about 2 weeks. Which is really fast for a print on demand company. Please keep in mind, the average is within 1 week. Some are shipped in a couple days, while others are shipped in a little over a week.

Pre-order designs are released to retail a few months after the round closes.

We don't have to wait months for our orders to arrive from overseas. We print everything in house and ship directly to you.
