"I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King. This is what the Lord says- who makes a way in the sea, and a path through the raging water... Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:15-16 &19.
Making a way. The Way Maker. When God called me to open a digital fabric printing business, I prayed and asked for a name. Not just a name, but a name that points to Him. That gives glory to God. He gave me the name WayMaker, and from that point on, there were miracles after miracles and answered prayers after answered prayers that continued to reinforce that God was calling me to pursue this business.
Since opening, I've had in the back of my mind a dream of making some "way maker" designs, but things didn't really pan out. When I hired a new designer, a beautiful, faithful, amazing woman. She told me that she had a vision of a "way maker" series of designs. I immediately said "YES!" I've been wanting something for a long time, but it just wasn't the right time to do it. We talked for an hour about this vision, and I am so pleased to introduce to you the first in our Way Maker series.
These prints give glory to God and honor the times we are on the mountain, as well as the times we are struggling through the desert.
Our first staple print is Make a Way. This print has a beautiful torn paper look to the mountains and incorporates a number of the companion prints in the completed design. This design was the starting point for the artist to launch the coordinates.
Sometimes, God calls us to do something, but we don't really know how to do it.
When I was in my 20's I felt the call to missions, and to make a long story short. I knew I was supposed to go, and I knew I was getting ready, but I didn't know where or how, and I recall praying "Okay, I get it God, I'm supposed to go, but you need to tell me where!" This was a passionate prayer. Not a mild "
please tell me..." I felt like Jacob wrestling with God and demanding a blessing, but I was demanding to be told where I was going. He came through! He told me where I was going (Australia and Papua New Guinea). But all of that is for another day. I needed God to Direct Me.
This print is so close to my heart and embodies needing direction from God.
The next prints are coordinates or companions that just bring the entire collection look together so beautifully. These prints are so cohesive, and they can all be mixed and matched together.
Don't like to wear the words, but want the personal knowledge that you are wearing a faith inspired design? Just snag one of the coordinates and you and can share with whomever you want the inspiration behind your fabric selection. Each print has a name that evokes the struggle of direction, walking a path, making a way, looking back on the choices you've made. I invite you to read the names of the collection and imagine how they tell a story. Maybe it's your story. Be inspired!
I know God is the Way Maker. If you are struggling with direction, or purpose. There is power in prayer. Take some time and pray. Ask for direction, ask for a path, spend some time praising Him. I'm reminded of that song "Graves into Gardens" one section goes like this
"You turn graves into gardens
You turn bones into armies
You turn seas into highways
You're the only one who can..."
God is the Way Maker. Don't lose hope.
